Description
The finely crushed poppy seeds are a real treat for the palate, because our Waldviertler gray poppy seeds have a very mild, delicate taste and are the ideal ingredient for both sweet and savory dishes. At the Mohnwirt you can enjoy dishes such as sheep's cheese with poppy seed oil pesto or tagliatelle with poppy seed oil pesto and cherry tomatoes.
Pesto comes from the Italian word “pestare” and means to pound and to pound means “to squeeze” in Waldviertler. So that the oils and taste of the Waldviertel gray poppy PDO can be distinguished. In order for them to develop perfectly, our gray poppy seeds must be crushed - i.e. mashed. At that time, a “poppy seed mortar” was used for this. So it was clear: a gray poppy seed oil pesto should not be missing from our Mohn Amour enjoyment series!
Convince yourself of the quality of the Waldviertel gray poppy PDO. and let yourself be “monkeyed”!
