The box “Blossoms on the plate!” contains 5 types of herbs and flowers, all edible.
The petals of the marigold add a mildly aromatic flavor to rice, salads and soups. Also very tasty brewed as a tea. Nasturtium is a real classic: flowers, leaves and buds are edible. The tart aroma rounds off salads, egg dishes and dressings. The buds can be pickled as false capers. Borage: The pretty flowers are also edible and decorate sweet dishes or salads. They react with vinegar and then change color. Dragon Head: Also called Turkish Dragon Head. Strong lemon aroma, but slightly different than lemon balm. Lemon-aromatic tea and spice plant, great in herbal salt, for example. for fish.
Summer aster: If you want to eat asters, you can, but you should only eat the flowers. The rule of thumb applies here: the more intense the color, the more flavor. Asters are particularly popular in salads.
